Welcome to Hoeve Altena!

We are Francois and Kim, now the fourth generation at Hoeve Altena. The farmhouse was built in 1924 by Kim's great-grandparents; later, her grandparents ran a dairy farm here. In 1993, her parents bought the farm and set about renovating it. Their latest renovation project was the creation of the guest accommodations in and around the farmhouse.

Together, we are constantly working to maintain and improve this lovely place. We think it is fantastic to let people from all over the world share in the enjoyment.

Woudrichem is a beautiful and historic town on the River Merwede, with various restaurants; hop on the ferry to Loevestein Castle, Gorinchem, and the historic city of Heusden. Golf courses: 5 golf courses within 25 km. Woudrichem is centrally located in the Netherlands; Rotterdam, Utrecht, Breda, and 's-Hertogenbosch are 40 minutes away by car, Antwerp within 1 hour. The Efteling is 25 minutes away by car. The Brabantse Biesbosch is highly recommended for nature lovers. Cycling enthusiasts: great bike rides along the rivers to see the Netherlands at its best.

Woudrichem is the perfect place to start your travels. Antwerp, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, cycling along the rivers, exploring nature in the Biesbosch or the Hoge Veluwe, a family day out at the Efteling, or one of the many historic towns. It is all close by.
